how gorgeous would this look in my new turquoise kitchen?

I am going to get one of the these one day, yes I am.  I think they cost about as much as a fence...

buildings

When I decided to take on study this year I thought I had a lot of spare time to fill in but as it transpires I don't have as much as I thought.  Conversely, it could be that learning takes time if you do it properly.  Consequently, my hours of surfing the net find new and interesting visual gems to share have diminshed significantly.  So, just to keep this little blog alive I am sharing some images of stunning buildings I have been researching.  I am sure most or some of you know about these buildings.  Although I knew of their existence, I didnt know anything about them.  Now I do.

Both of these buildings are spine tingling to me.

mmmm - not so much

I think it is the wallpaper or perhaps the gold curtains

great excitement

Yesterday I got home from work to find a chunky blue box on the kitchen table and immeadiately thought 'what has Jonty bought now?'.  But on closer inspection I realised my course work had arrived.  Another toe dipped into tertiary education.  This time I am embarking on something that excites me sooo much and it just so happens to support some aspects of my job at the moment.  Interior Design!

First Module - Influnece in design and decoration -  translates to history of architecture and design.  And, as expected we are starting with the pyramids.

As I go on I am going to share some interesting things I learn along the way.  Of course I will not assume others don't know these things as I do not profess to know anything at all so the sharing will be my wonderment, not for others edification.

My first little design activity is to do some research on a parallel (in time) civilization to the Egyptians and think about the architecture.  So, I think I will do Aztec.

found objects

I found this bird's nest in a tree I was chopping back and it instantly became a member of the 'Nicholas Museum of Found Items of Nature'.  When Georgie plopped the gorgeous delicate bird on the back doorstep as another gift of nature, I could see a photo op in the making.   Forgive me those of you with delicate senses, but I just love the look of this image.  You could go all 'circle of life' about it to make it more palatable.

the more I think about it the more I am wedded to the notion of having a teal/aqua/lime and white kitchen

Red messyness

Love the lips.  Remind me of the '80s and oddly enough, my desk at work, the mess, not the lips

curtains

Here is the fabric I bought yesterday for the lounge and family room of our new house.  No, we haven't finalised the plan, yes I did forget about a window and have too little, yes Jonty did come with me and yes it is insanely bold ...and I LOVE IT!!
